A downloadable asset pack

Sci-fi Axe was made to practice working with modifiers in Blender, more specifically, solidify modifier. I used simple planes, adding thickness with the modifier and setting different weights on vertices to get a more interesting result. There are also subsurf and bevel modifiers used. Shaders are quickly put together: simple emission and cell shade. 
To get different thickness for your solidify modifier:

1) Add solidify to a plane

2) In Edit mode add Vertices to a vertex group

3) In Edit mode select a vertex and change it's parameter "Vertex Weights"  under "Item"tab.
